We're looking for a mobile developer to join us on our mission to end the metabolic health crisis. The mobile application you'll be building with us is helping people adopt healthy habits and reach better metabolic health already today (check out a real member story here). Now we invite you to bring the Veri app to the next level.

You'll be working on the Veri application and other customer-facing parts of our services built mainly on React Native. As an essential part of our small product team, you will be taking part in every step of making a new feature. You will be participating in inventing, designing, planning, and executing new features to the app.

This role is open for applicants coming from a varying spectrum of experience - whether you have less experience and you feel like pushing the boundaries, or you're a seasoned engineer, we can make it work. We'll adjust factors such as your responsibilities or compensation based on your experience. Read more about what are the most important things for us below.

What do we expect?

• You are experienced with Typescript and React (web or React Native)

• You are excited about helping people live a metabolically healthy life — you don't need to know everything about metabolic health, but should be eager to learn more.

What do we appreciate?

• You are experienced with React Native
• You have experience in Java/Kotlin Android or Objective-C/Swift iOS applications
  
• You have battle tested knowledge on mobile automated tests, for example e2e tests
• You are familiar with databases that are running on mobile devices such as Realm, Sqlite, Core Data
  
• You have experience with D3.js / VictoryChart
• You have previous experience in UX/UI development
  
• You've worked with a CMS system such as Sanity, Contentful, etc

Process

1. Intro chat with the hiring manager (30-45 minutes)

You'll first talk to the relevant hiring manager on a 30-45-minute call; you won't need to prepare anything in advance. We would love to hear your story, where you're aiming to go and understand if we can be helpful in that journey. In exchange we'll share you how we came to be, and who we are. Also we’ll give you an overview of our product – tech stack, development process and our roadmap.

We’ll chat virtually over Google Meet or live at our office in Kallio.

If we both are excited and you seem like an excellent fit I'll forward you to the the tech and product team.

2. Technical Task (±4 hours)

We'll provide you a task to assess your technical skills and execution. After you submit the task, we’ll carefully review your work. If the submission demonstrates the skills we’re looking for we’ll move forward.

Technical Task Review (1 hour)

After finishing the task you'll get to demo your work to a few people from our tech and product teams. In this meeting we'll focus on your submission, but might also ask other technical questions here and there.

You’ll get to ask more questions about the product and our stack. We'd also love to hear about your sweet spot and interests within the areas we are working on.

Here again, if we feel that you could contribute to our work and you're excited about the challenges we face we'll move forward.

Technical Interview (1 hour)

A technical interview with our engineer(s) where we go into problem solving skills and ask relevant technical questions to understand better how you think. We aim to keep the tone of the meeting conversational and are happy to hear any questions you might have to our tech team as well.

3. Meeting the Crew (30 minutes)

We'll get a few people from the team to interview you and to touch base one last time before making a final decision. If we collectively believe there is a good fit we’ll make you an offer following our Open Compensation Model.
